From this time, Reid was door-to-door salesman for three years. He also joined the Air National Guard when he returned from Europe and was employed as a weekend warrior for 12 years until he retired. After three years of door-to-door sales, where he learned the basics of selling, dealing with the public, and thinking on his feet, he went to work for his father's Mortgage Company, Pueblo Equity Loans.

After three years at his father's company, he instituted the real estates division. He eventually led the Mortgage Brokerage division for Pueblo Equity Loans and became the Designated Broker for the Realty sales side. In 1990, he shut down the Loan business and ever since, Pueblo Equity has focused exclusively on real estate sales.
